The Chant: A Thrilling Horror Game

The Chant is a single-player, third-person horror action-adventure game that takes place on a remote island spiritual retreat. The game is developed by Brass Token and is available on Play Station 5 as a full version. The game is set in a peaceful weekend that turns into a nightmare when a group chant opens The Gloom, a psychedelic dimension of terror that feeds off negative energy. The player must interact with a group of characters and untangle the complex history of the island to fight off the creatures and unravel the legacy of a cult from the 1970s to reverse the ritual.

The game's environment is filled with cosmic dread, and the player must survive against an array of prismatic creatures and cultists released from The Gloom. The player must choose between fighting for survival with spiritual weapons and abilities or succumbing to panic and fleeing. The game's unique feature is its balance between mind, body, and spirit, where the player must steel their mind against horror and panic, protect their body against physical threats, and elevate their spirit to meditate and access supernatural abilities. The Chant is inspired by the psychedelic horror of the 1970s, and the landscape of colored lighting and electronic rock soundtrack, composed by the award-winning Paul Ruskay, adds to the game's eerie atmosphere.
